MEMORIAL OPTIONS AT PINES CEMETERY
A landmark for Valley residents, Pines Cemetery occupies 36 acres in the Spokane Valley along 16th Ave and Pines Road. The wide lawns, trees and pathways provide a contemplative, peaceful, and honorable setting in which the lives and memories of loved ones have been commemorated since the cemetery's dedication in 1910.
Many residents are familiar with Pines Cemetery due to the distinctive architecture of the majestic Pines Mausoleum.
Pines Cemetery also features a scattering garden, indoor glass-front cremation niches and the Pines Cemetery Veterans Memorial.
Below are just a few of the options for permanent memorialization at Pines Cemetery.
PINES MAUSOLEUM
Pines Mausoleum provides a variety of options to honor and celebrate lives well lived. At Pines Mausoleum, indoor and outdoor memorialization options are available. Located inside and out are above ground crypts and niches to meet individual family desires. To learn about these options for cremation or above ground options, click one of the links below.
A BRIEF HISTORY
In 1907 the Opportunity Cemetery Association was established as a small, family operation to serve the then rural communities of the Spokane Valley.
Pines Cemetery was dedicated in 1910 and started with a few acres of land on the north side of 16th Avenue. The cemetery's neighbors during this time consisted mostly of apple orchards.

Following the Second World War, and supported by the completion of Grand Coulee Dam and new industries in Trentwood and along Appleway (Sprague) Avenue, the population of the Spokane Valley began to take off.
As a consequence of this post-war growth boom, Pines Cemetery was quickly outgrowing its original property and purchased land on the south side of 16th Avenue.
The cemetery's most distinctive landmark, the basalt rock and glass Pines Mausoleum, was built on this land in the 1960's.

A Veterans Memorial was added in the 1990's.

In June of 2013 Fairmount Memorial Association agreed to acquire Pines Cemetery
