Comfort Cub

What do the double hearts symbolize?
The intertwined hearts symbolize the eternal bond and everlasting love between two
people who face separation either through death or distance.

Is the Comfort Cub just for children?
Not at all. The Comfort Cub is intended for all ages (over 3 years), including children.

Is the Comfort Cub a toy?
No, the Comfort Cub is NOT a toy. It is a commemorative piece. Therefore, it is not
suitable for children under the age of 3, nor should children vigorously play with it.
The Comfort Cub is meant to be cuddled, snuggled and hugged.

What else can be placed in the chest pocket?
In addition to the heart which comes with the bear, items such as a ring, a folded letter
or any other small memento of affection can be placed in the chest pocket. If storing
additional mementos in the pocket, take care to ensure they do not scratch the exterior
of the heart.

Can I wash my Comfort Cub?
Yes; surface wash with damp cloth, lukewarm water and mild soap. Air dry on a
towel, and hand fluff to restore its coat. Hand or machine washing is not
recommended. However, if you wish to attempt these methods, be sure to remove the
heart locket for safekeeping and put the cub in a pillow case (or pantyhose bag, etc.),
then secure the opening with a rubber band or safety pins. Once dry,
re-attach the heart.

Other than for the loss of a loved one, when else can the Comfort Cub be used?
Because of the multifaceted nature of the heart locket, the Comfort Cub is ideal for any
situation where two people are separated. Some examples include: grandchildren
separated from snowbird grandparents, best friends separated by a move, children of
divorced parents separated by custody, or families separated by military service. In any
event, the Comfort Cub can be the link that reminds each person that they are loved,
missed and remembered.

Heart Locket

What can be kept in the heart locket?
The locket is designed to hold two photos or one photo with either a small amount of
cremated remains, a lock of hair, dried flower petals, scented tissue or earth from a
burial site. However, it can hold any memento of affection that will fit inside it.

Can I engrave the heart locket?
Yes. The heart can be laser or diamond-engraved. If you choose to engrave the
heart-shaped plate, it is best to do so prior to sealing it to the locket.

How are remains sealed in the heart?
A small portion of the remains are placed in one side of the locket and the heart-shaped
plate is permanently sealed on top. This is completed by the funeral director in order to
ensure secure closure.

How do I care for the heart?
Gently polish the heart with a soft dry cloth to remove finger prints. Do not submerse
the heart in water.
